Stunning setting and opulent surroundings. Not inexpensive but all things considered was good value. Had a "wow" factor on arrival !

hotel well situated for exploring the old town of Cuenca. Also it is very comfortable, being a former Convent, the conversion has been done very well.
As ever with Paradores the food is too expensive for the quality offered.

I really enjoyed the surroundings, the area is beautiful; and, walking around the hotel very easy. I asked for a room with a view of the hanging houses for an extra fee, which was worth it for me, I loved it. Did not have time to try the pool, so can not tell you about it. The staff was very helpful and pleasant to us. The food at the parador was quite good, not as delicious as in the paradors we visited in the Extremadura area of Spain, but that might simply be because we personally preferred the Extramadura's cooking tradition.

Beautiful setting in a lovely town. The grounds and building and pool area were delightful.
Our room was big and the bathrooms were modern. We were given one of the few rooms without a view. The front desk told us that since we booked on Booked.net we did not qualify for a room with a view. They were available if we wanted to pay $70 more. This was disappointing since much of the experience of staying in this converted convent was looking out the window from the mountain top.

The area around the Parador is very charming with the hanging houses directly oposite. A picturesque bridge connects the parador with a small square full of bars and restaurants on the other side.
Cuenca is not the easiest place to get to.

An excellent transformation of an old monastery into a hotel with all the required amenities. A great and unique position in the old town area of Cuenca.
Stayed 1 night - nothing not to like -room spacious, food good, staff polite and helpful.

Room was spacious. Most staff helpful. Fantastic surroundings and interiors. Drinks in the courtyard at nearly midnight was a sublime experience. Very close to the old city. Excellent opps. For photos from the bridge crossing the gorge. Free car parking and plentiful spaces. Breakfast choices were many and very tasty.
Dining room atmosphere was dull and dreary. The food we ate was overcooked. Staff, particularly head waiter, was officious and unwelcoming. I wish we had walked to the old town for a meal. Most unpleasant experience.

fine views but inconsistent service
The setting of the hotel is amazing, with views that take your breath away. The room offered plenty of space, was well decorated, and very clean.
The service, while friendly, seemed a bit slow and sometimes unclear.

Great location but a bit dated.
Airconditioning was turned off at night, most uncomfortable in mid August. We complained the first night and thought it would be resolved the next night but no such luck. Was very difficult to sleep in the heat. Breakfast was included and overall was nice but no hot plates to keep the bacon and fried eggs hot. I think it would fail a food hygiene test as bacteria can breed in luke warm food. Very poor for a 4 star hotel.

Unique and large rooms with a safe, a mini bar and a sofa bed. Extensive and plentiful breakfast with lots of delicacies and accommodating staff. Amazing location down at the bottom of the hill, and 5 minute walk from Hanging Houses of Cuenca. Friendly check-in, parking nearby.

Room with a view on a blind wall is not what one expects when booking an expensive parador. Changing rooms was not possible, although the hotel was not full. The three-course menu was 2 à 3 times as expensive as normal and was 2 à 3 times as bad. We never had such bad food before as our group of four unanimously concluded. We all are experienced Spain travellers.

Right from the time we arrived the reception staff were both courteous and helpful. They spoke very good English and we were made very welcome.
